The Best
Now that ESPN has been showing more soccer, don't miss a chance to watch Leo Messi play when Barcelona is on during the final stages of Champions League play. He's the best I've ever seen.
I didn't know you were a soccer fan. Barça is definitely on fire this year, and Messi is, in the words of GolTV's Ray Hudson, "magisterial" living in another “electromagnetic spectrum”. Barça's possession soccer, characterized by superb individual ball handling, fluid midfield, attacking defensive wingbacks, and short quick tiki-taka passes is beautiful to watch, very calming. (I find Italian and English league soccer “too anxious”). Their handling of Real Madrid in Nov was shocking. Interestingly, the goal you show from last year's season is a little unique. He usually scores from the goalie's left coming across, but Messi's magnetic shoes and his genetic inability to dive are on display. There are of course comparisons to Cristiano Ronaldo who is also very good. But CR is more a whining prima donna with fancy but ineffective crossovers; Leo is more a team player ready to bounce back up from a foul with a quick restart. I hope Barça can get past Arsenal this Tuesday, who they outplayed last month, but could not quick get the ball in.
Messi is a magician with both feet. He's definetely the best in the world right now. Messi made me a soccer fan. He's fun to watch and soccer is the world's sport regardless of what Americans think.
SOCCER?!?!?! With 20 games left in the NBA Regular Season? I haven't watched an Atlanta Hawks game since 1983, and I'm still excited. Sure, the NBA Playoffs let in too many teams, I mean you have to be REALLY Bad not to make it.. And what about those Buckeyes, Buckeye? Can't wait to see how they choke this year.. And the Tribe looks like there ready to put up a 3rd straight 69 win season, you know, I think Charlie Sheen might be a better pitcher than the Indians real pitchers...
OK, I watched your clip, didn't need that 1:15 of my life anyway...
I don't get it, the dude basically kicks an extra point, except he doesn't have 11 guys who average 270lbs in wt, 500 lbs in Benchpress, and are still fast, trying to kill him.. (Real)American Goal Posts are several feet narrower than Soccer ones, and 10 ft off the ground. So your "The Best" is something that occurs 7 or 8 times per game in the NFL, and is considered one of the more boring parts of the game...

When my 4 year old son dropped 5 goals in a game last summer, he was given the nickname "Connor Messi." A Messi Fathead is on the way.
I will steal a line from the announcer in the clip, and say that posts like this make you the Messi of blogging. You are "an incredible little man."
