It's a daily deal pretty much, certain areas more often :o) Really, the only hesitation on the part of the nurse would be due to the inability of the patient to tolerate/risk. Chlorhexidine bathing worries me. Don't know what kind of solution was being used... just don't like full body coverage.

-SCRNAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2760353953251845523.post-78477099211842686522010-03-26T19:01:26.185-04:002010-03-26T19:01:26.185-04:00Anon 651pm-
I see where you're going with that...Anon 651pm-
I see where you're going with that. It's possible I've idiotically misinterpreted the study. But the truth is that bathing is not a standard daily nursing activity in most ICU's. If the patient has been there a while, starts to smell a bit, then yeah, you'll see a full body sponge bath being done. But really it's at the discretion of the nurse. A paper like this can prompt some gung ho physician/hospital executive to incorporate "chlorhexidine bathing" into the daily routine of all ICU patients. Because of the science, you see. Can't you envision a paper like this leading to the creation of a daily icu nurse "checklist"? I mean it might just lead to fewer infections, who knows....Jeffrey Parks MD FACShttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15650563299849196122noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2760353953251845523.post-86558737093478314912010-03-25T18:51:23.928-04:002010-03-25T18:51:23.928-04:00You missed the point - the patients were ALREADY b...You missed the point - the patients were ALREADY being bathe d- the only change was from a regular soap to a chlorhexidine soap.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2760353953251845523.post-76924111665501728182010-03-25T01:16:41.902-04:002010-03-25T01:16:41.902-04:00Brushing their teeth is supposed to help with the ...Brushing their teeth is supposed to help with the ventilator associated pneumonia.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2760353953251845523.post-11571879092235851152010-03-24T10:31:06.271-04:002010-03-24T10:31:06.271-04:00Have to anyway... got to be quick about it, though...Have to anyway... got to be quick about it, though.
-SCRNAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2760353953251845523.post-835860719557083552010-03-24T10:29:38.774-04:002010-03-24T10:29:38.774-04:00As the size of the average person increases, it ma...As the size of the average person increases, it may actually take more than four people.rlbateshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15236331355857884458noreply@blogger.com
